My Top Concealers

Collection Lasting Perfection Concealer

The best drugstore concealer I have used is Collection Lasting Perfection Concealer. This concealer doesn’t crease personally on me but I have heard others reviewing this say that it creases on them mainly under the eyes. It is very high coverage but then again can be sheered out to look very natural. This is such a good price at £4.19. I would say that it doesn’t have 16 hour wear which it does claim to have on the packaging. If I compare it to my Mac concealer it doesn’t last nowhere near as long. There aren’t many shades in this collection which is the main downside.
MAC Pro Longwear Concealer

MAC Pro Longwear Concealer is my favourite but is quite pricey at £17.50 however, it is worth the price as well as the fact that this concealer lasts ages. A little goes a very long way. The pump on the concealer is much more hygienic as it means bacteria, which maybe on the face from spots or from the hands etc. isn't contaminating the rest of the concealer therefore preventing the spread of bacteria throughout the rest of the concealer or on the face which may otherwise cause spots. This is more likely to happen when using other methods of dispensing the product such as the applicator within the Collection Lasting Perfection Concealer.

Essence Brand Review- Lip Products

Essence Lip liner-£1
Essence hasn’t been stocked for that long within the UK. I purchased some of their lip products recently from Wilkinson’s. I bought two lip liners, two lipsticks and a lip gloss.

The lip liners I got were both pink colours just different shades. Both the lip liners are very soft and smooth which is good because some lip liners can be very scratchy on the lips. This smooth texture means that the lip liners are easily blendable. For £1 they are very pigmented.
However I would say that some of the colours seem to look quite similar so it would be good if they were to bring out a few more colours. Meaning there would be a greater variety of colours to choose from which weren’t too similar. All the shades are either nude or a shade of pink with there being only one bright shade which is the red.

Essence Long Lasting Lipstick- £2.30

The two lipsticks I bought were also very affordable. The second lipstick was in a packaging which was the same shade as the lipstick whereas this one has a black packaging, which I personally prefer.  This lipstick is very creamy and easy to apply and has quite a good colour pay off.

Essence Lipstick-£2

This lipstick isn’t very pigmented at all and is more of a sheer lipstick but is very moisturising and good for everyday wear. Personally I don’t like the packaging that much, I think it would have looked better in black.

Essence XXXL nude lip gloss-£2
I bought the XXXL Nude Lip Gloss which was only £2. This lip gloss does have quite an artificial sweet scent but it doesn’t bother me that much however, it can irritate some. The lip gloss has the normal applicator which most lip glosses have but it is pointed which allows for easy application. This lip gloss has a very high shine finish.

I am yet to try some more of their products as so far I have only tried these lip products and I am generally impressed with them and would definitely recommend the lip liners as they are good quality as well as being a good price.

Top Summer Base Foundation

MAC Face and Body Foundation
Now we are entering the summer months, there isn’t a need for a heavy coverage from a foundation. A lighter coverage foundation is better suited to the hotter weather as it feels and looks much more natural on the skin.

MAC Face and Body foundation provides a light coverage but as some see a higher coverage as more preferable it is also a useful foundation as it has buildable coverage. Due to this foundation being very sheer it allows for you to maybe go a few shades darker than your natural skin colour which can give you a more tanned look which some may want in the summer. I find that the formula that the foundation has gives a very dewy finish, making the skin look luminous.

I personally have oily skin and when I wear this foundation I have to make sure I powder otherwise the foundations luminosity makes me look too oily. However, I do need to wear powder with the majority of foundations. The only exception is if the foundation is particularly made for a matte finish. Overall, I would definitely recommend this foundation to anyone looking for a lightweight foundation particularly suited for summer.
